Daniel Capusan

Biography

Daniel Capusan was born in Romania and raised in Seattle, Washington, after coming to the United States in 1991. After graduating from Lake Washington High School he attended the University of Washington from which he received a BA.  His Sociology degree has trained him to look at people and relationships with a careful eye; an eye that picks up the important lessons we need not overlook when experiencing life. In the summer of 2002, after a missionary trip to Romania opened his eyes to many things, Daniel gave his life to Jesus and was baptized in water on August 3rd. He became a member of First Romanian Pentecostal Church in Seattle, Wa and has been serving there ever since. Daniel met Alina in September of 2002 and they were soon married in July 2003. They are currently living in Kirkland with their two children, Hannah and Josiah.

Daniel is a youth leader at his church and has a passion for working with young people. He helps with various youth ministry activities including preaching sermons, and helping to give direction and guidance to the youth.  Much of his writing stems from his experiences within the youth ministry and his local church.  In his free time, Daniel enjoys playing sports.

Capusan first amused the idea of becoming a writer while doing his sermon preparations in ministry.  As he prepared his sermons, he regularly expanded on his ideas and reflected on them in well organized notebooks. Those notebooks carried a lot of his writing material. One other factor was the fact that when  preaching his sermons, individuals constantly pointed out that his speeches were simple and very practical in nature. His book, “The Christian Behind Closed Doors” was largely inspired by the writings he compiled over the years of ministry involvement. Like his sermons, the book has a simple writing style and is very practical.

Even though Daniel had an interest in writing, he did not have anyone to push him toward publishing. Having a topic in mind and much material accumulated over time, he did not have a person that could direct him toward the publishing process. Finally, the group leader from Daniel’s Bible Study, brought about that final push. As Daniel was considering a book on Christian legalism, this leader, who was himself working on a book, met with Capusan and looked over some of his work. He encouraged Daniel, saying that “your voice is heard in your writings.” This was a great encouragement and within the next year, Daniel’s dream of writing and publishing a book on Legalism became reality. Capusan is currently working on getting “The Christian Behind Closed Doors” translated into Romanian, his first language.

Following his book on legalism, Daniel will shift gears and begin writing on the topic of marriage.  His next book will focus on the early years of a couple’s marriage.
